EMAC in the conquest of the infinitesimal

EMAC in the conquest of the infinitesimal - 05.01.10

Since 3 years, EMAC is working in association with the laboratory IPREM of Pau and regional industrialists (SPS, Arkema...) on the problem of nanocomposites within the NaCoMat Project (Nano Composites Materials).  This project, of a total budget of 13 M € over 4 years, was choosen by the French Government within the framework of the first call for projects "Fund for Companies Competitiveness" of February 2006.  Nacomat is a programm of Researches and Technologies (R&T) allowing to have a new generation of composite materials highly varied (with organic matrix, ceramic, carbon/carbon, nanostructured covers...) for the aircraft and spatial industries.  In this project, EMAC is working on the dispersal of nanoloads within rubber compounds and looks into their influences on the properties of the obtained composites.  This study allows EMAC to strengthen its know-how regarding formulation of rubber compounds and the dispersal of the loads in rubber, but also to develop new skills on the dispersal of nanoloads.
